Voices Northwest Chorus was founded and is directed by Sue Beck, who has nine regional championship quartet medals and many years of experience, as a chorus member, a quartet singer, and as a director. She joined Sweet Adelines in 1972 and won her first regional championship in 1986. She is currently a certified Showmanship Judge and sought-after coach and teacher for choruses and quartets around the organization.
Our chorus was formed in the fall of 2006 to fill a geographic void in a cappella singing opportunities for women in the greater Snohomish County, Washington area. We officially became chartered with Sweet Adelines International in January 2008. At our first regional contest, we were named Division A Champions and have placed every year since our inception. At our most recent contest appearance we were honored to win third place in Region 13 Competition (Pacific Northwest) in April, 2010 with a 42-point improvement from our previous year’s performance.
Our members are committed to advancing the musical art form of barbershop harmony through education and performance. Visit us to join the fun and see where the adventure leads you!
